The Gharda Foundation is a private, non-profit, philanthropic organisation dedicated to Holistic Rural development. We are committed to a philosophy of development rather than charity and strive to make villagers self reliant and feel ownership of projects that are put into action. Our village development activities focus on co- operative schemes with villagers to provide them with the basis for self sufficiency and self determination.

Given our Holistic ideology we work on all aspects of rural life including agriculture, irrigation, education, environment, health, women & children and income generation. We also believe in a participatory approach and initiate only those projects where we can be assured of the full participation and contribution of the villagers.
